I recently made a demonstration video for the machinima channel. U may find it informative
Its shows how u can use the kinect as a cheap mocap system on your pc
Hopefully epic will incorporate the kinect into the unreal engine one day.
It Would be very cool using this in Muvizu.

Very interesting Jon!
I can see Muvizu HQ turning into a dance studio!
" And next on the floor..It's Crazy Dave!!....Oh dear,... could someone phone an ambulance..." LOL!

pretty nifty!
im starting to fear for my job.........but in saying that......ive been afraid of mocap for about 8 years and im still here
defo looks like an amazing direction for machinima to go in! As long as the technical side can be overcome for the average punter

Very nice
Epic and Microsoft have a very solid partnership, so that's definitely a possibility.
Cheers,
Marco

keyframed animation will always live on like stop motion. Motion capture is pretty cool but it doesn't really complement certain project styles. Look at Pixar, I bet they have access to the best mocap system around but they still key frame 90% of their animations in their films.

I imagine it would be a great tool to get a general animation in place that could be tweaked with keyframes for exaggeration and a more cartoony quality.

Oh by the way I am an awesome dancer, cast or no cast.
I love the Kinect idea and there's no reason that it couldn't be hooked up to Muvizu characters and, with a bit of work, used to record animations.
