Posts: 1738 		looking at the code in each of these messages, I see that primaveranz link used the URL tag while your message used the IMG tag... the URL tag does not include the preview, just a hot link, while the IMG tage actually inserts the image.

you can manually enter these tags between square brackets. An embedded image link would look like this:

where I type LBRACKET, I mean this left square bracket character: ""

LBRACKET img RBRACKET insert URL here LBRACKET /img RBRACKET


an easier way is to type the url, hilight it, then click the IMAGE icon in the toolbar above the message. (the 6th icon from the left, the one immediately before the color pallet). That will automatically put the IMG tags around the url

Posts: 763 		yep every forum ive ever post a pic in uses the img inside the square brackets at the start and /img in the square brackets at the end. even if you are hotlinking a picture from the interwebs (which i dont do coz 9 times out of 10 whatever pic you are hotlinking usually shows up as a do not hotlink our pic image) so uploading to imgur is easier for me.

Pat is the only one of you who can actually Paste an image straight in to a post and, when I click the HTML button I don't see any HTML, the text just changes format slightly. I just tried with Chrome and Opera, same thing. Makes me more suspicious that non-Mogul logins have different capabilities on the forum from us plebs


It's no biggie though, as I can't upload videos either because I don't use YouTube.

I just copy and pasted an image from my image editor and it works with me.

Ha ha! No I can't

You may not be a Mogul yet Ikes, but the software is able to calculate that, with your skills you should be. So it is carefully written to pre-empt that ascension (I am a former programmer - I have great faith in coders). It is also smart enough to know I never will be, hence no "Pastability" for me

Or, it could be the browser you're using, I have firefox.

Quite right, Chrome and Opera don't work but IE11 did

oh.. we must have been typing at the same time.... (I use Firefox too. )
