Hello there

In previous versions it was possible to "switch off" the lights using the F2 key but yhr lights remained on in the Camera View and - more importantly - when you were making a movie.

This no longer seems to be the case.

If it is a deliberate change it would be a shame because I like to have the lights switched off to save resources

thanks

Hi Toonarama,

The Lit (lights on) and Unlit (lights off) features are still available in the build 2010.11.29.01R
I remember that in some previous versions this was disabled, but the developers fixed that.

Can you tell us which version of Muvizu are you running?

Cheers,
Marco

EDIT: I just ran a couple of tests and in fact the changes are also applied to the camera view, will need to check if it's as designed or not. If not will go on our to do list. Thanks for the heads up, we're on it

This was a deliberate change, it gives you the ability to make videos in the unlit mode, to give it a cartoony style. If this is an unpopular change, we can look at making it a separate toggle for the camera preview windows. In the meantime, you can re-enable the lighting with the F3 key before you start recording your video.

Thanks Neil/Marco

It's no big deal as - as you say - I can just switch the lights back on before rendering and I think it is a good thing to be able to produce 2d animations too.

All the best

A checkbox on the Make Video screen for lit/unlit would be good. I've always used the camera window as my check for the lighting while I edited the rest unlit (for speed). I haven't built a complex enough set in the new version to have to work unlit, so didn't notice the change. When I did notice it, I would have posted toonarama's question, so thanks toon!

So yeah, please give us the ability to work in mixed lit/unlit modes - I can't see how that's not helpful to anyone, it seems like such an obvious feature to have.
