Hey

I've noticed that Muvizu uses the wrong way of spelling. At first I thought it was a mistake but then I discovered that the British have their own way of spelling certain words like color and tires. Can we have an option to switch it to the proper english please?

Erm... I think you'll find that we are using proper English. England is after all a part of Britain. You should campaign to have "American English" adopt the correct usage.

I'm afraid that while we are looking at some localisation stuff, this is unlikely to happen in the near term. As Dreeko said in another thread our TODO list is longer than the Great Wall of China.

Is it possible that the English actually invented the English language? Maybe it was really the Americans and they called their language 'English' for a joke!

Hmmmm

English? American? I think Muvizu should be translated into Esperanto.

In actuality, I find that English, Scottish and Irish accents are very charming and work nicely with Muvizu toons. Hearing my own American accent makes me cringe, but does allow myself to do good American accents and dialects. Mixed that with the Filipino and German and Scottish and Irish and Dutch in me, well, that's quite a mixed bag. If I gain the courage to do so, I might upload some samples of my vocal "talent".

Side note: I was amazed at Hugh Laurie's American accent on House., but my kids thought that he was speaking in an English accent! I had to show them what he really sounded like using clips from the Blackadder series.

You should've shown them Jeeves & Wooster - that would have freaked them out!

The difference in languages doesn't make any functional difference - all of the names are hidden in the final output - so why request it? Does the difference in spelling really bother you that much?

On the subject of English actors; Ian McShane got a lot of abuse about having a bad American accent in Deadwood - people seemed to forget that he was playing an Englishman who had lived in America for most of his life.

Other characters referring to him as a "Limey" should have been a giveaway.........
