Animating Objects!!....?? If you pitch it up, even just a bit, it will sneak through. I and many others have used that trick to get away with sneaking in music.

Animating Objects!!....?? If you're sliding left and right only you can also use the A and D keys. I never use the mouse to try and move an object. I could do a billion takes and never get it right.

Animating Objects!!....?? I have never once successfully moved any object in less than 30 takes. You're not alone, it just never behaves like you expect it to. I would suggest that you turn the smoothness all the way off, that seems to really screw everything up.

Muvizu needs you! I take testing seriously so count me in.

Flying Fying by or flying toward the camera? Toward the camera would use a ground plane with some kind of moving background. To simulate going through fog you could place the smoke effect behind the camera pointed toward the character. Turn it on, then off, it'll look like he passed through clouds long the way.

Flying by would definitely be easier using camera movement, again with a moving background of clouds.

Just some thoughts, I'm sure there's plenty of other ways to achieve the effect.

When it comes to camera movement, there is no such thing as an "easy path." laugh

Sounds like a must see video!

And I find that once it happens once, no matter how rare, it then happens every time. One time I selected the character and chose "Move to" in the scene window and the whole area went black. I was never able to Move To anything else and even opening new set files kept everything black. I think it really does teleport the character somewhere outside the viewable area.

Feedback Thread - v0.20b release (May 2012) The characters are always just standing on the ground, and I have an ATI Radeon HD4350 graphics card.

Hi Danimal, do you know how it's happen for you?

It seems to happen when adjusting a characters movement on the timeline. In particular, I've noticed it's when I have the timeline sent on a point in the middle of a character's movement and then adjust it on the timeline. If I adjust the movement when paused at a different spot on the timeline, they don't seem to vanish then. I don't know if I explained that right at all, but I hope it helps.

Feedback Thread - v0.20b release (May 2012) Any chance of maybe putting a bit of attention to fixing the bug where characters randomly disappear? I think having a hero pack won't mean too much if they keep vanishing.

Feedback Thread - v0.20b release (May 2012) I very nearly jumped for joy at the lack of dramtic swoop on the Direct Object Movement selection, but much to my chagrin, when you hit the Direct button and the timeline is running, it jumps to some new postition. Oi vey...

Feedback Thread - v0.20b release (May 2012) Noticed this with beta and the new version as well:

- Still no tick marks on the timeline
- The Zoom/Timeline scrub control are still not in sync
- They may be there, but I didn't see any new character actions or properties (aside from don't blink or breathe)
- Textures for a good chunk of backdrops/ground planes are AWOL

To its credit, there's still no dramatic swoop when you go to edit a character's properties.

I guess I'm something of an enigma in the Muvizu community. I could give a hoot in hell about a "hero pack" that I will never for any reason use. There was always joy in getting the new versions and seeing what new Actions and Action sets (Neutral mood, anyone?) would be included. I like the standard, cartoony characters. I'd be 100 times happier seeing more facial and hair options to make them look distinct before I'd ever care about DirectX 11 support. Expand on what's there. Give the characters more arm attachments so that we can at least mimic prop handling.

The "doulble click and the character moves" feature is the best. It has made this so much simpler to use. When can such a thing be added to camera and object movement? The anti-aliasing was a marvelous step forward but please don't keep growing the technical side so that I have to buya whole new computer just to keep up. I couldn't tell you one spec about my computer because I don't care. That's why I LOVE Muvizu: it's SIMPLE. Please keep it that way.

I guess I've ranted enough. I still use it, and am working on a scene right now. I will always be a supporter, no matter how much it seems like I'm not, LOL.

Thanks!

I hadn't thought of that. It does have its advantages, yes. But remember, it's all about ME laugh

Very excellent news, thanks!

Feedback Thread - v0.19b release (January 2012). I know I'm a bit late on this thread as it's two months since the last reply, but I've been using the new version a lot lately with somewhat mixed results. I also made sure to read through for a possible answer before asking.

I'm not sure why all this "teleport" business got thrown into the mix. Used to be I'd do one pass with all of my character actions in a row and then move them around on the timeline to where I wanted them for better control. Then I'd add any movement the same way: all in one shot them position it where I want it. More precise control, and it's markedly faster than having to do everything in a linear fashion, a process requiring mulitple starts and stops of playback and recording.

Now there's all this actions turning green and red and teleport this and that. Several times I'll go to reposition a character's movement bar and he just vanishes completely. Even with no actions at all, he's just gone. Not deleted, the bounding box with his name is still there and I can "Move to" him in the Scene Window, he's just invisible.

Why is this happening? I'm sure the answer to that is something related to coding that I won't understand anyway, but it's really infuriating to have to keep closing and reopening a set, not to mention force a workflow that is somewhat slow and clumsy.

And you do so very well.

Dylly, excellent post. Muvizu lets people tell stories they otherwise wouldn't be able to tell. I am always fascinated with the results.

Gun_in_Hand I'd really be happy with just a few attachments. We've got 15 shirt cuffs, how about a pencil? Or a cup? Or a phone? Things people do in fact hold constantly? We've seen it's possible to attach items, I would love to see this happen. I couldn't care less about characters picking up and interacting with objects because I still find even the most basic camera movement an exercise in fury, but to at least have them already holding stuff would be great.

Sketchup to Muvizu No need to apologize, I'm hardly in a position to make demands or impose a timeline. Thanks for all you do and I look forward to using this set!

Sketchup to Muvizu Did the light switch ever get turned on? Ugh, worst pun ever. But really, is that part of one of the packs in the 3D Assets gallery? Nothing leaped out at me as containing it, but that's certainly something I could use in a scene I'm currently working on.

Thanks so much for all your work on these props and sets!

A Screenshot It's still baffling to me, but I never claimed to be anything but a lunkhead with 3D modelling. And pretty much everything else, come to think of it. Goofus
