how to move cameras for stereoscopic film? Hi RobG,

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are after, but hopefully might be of some use to you.

http://www.muvizu.com/Wiki/wiki/74/flying-movement-with-superhero-characters

You can have a go at animating the backdrops and see if that gives the effect you desire.

All the best,

Could you possibly send in the set file you are using when this crash occurs please? To: bugs@muvizu.com

I will see if we can get to the bottom of this for you!

Many thanks,

Play+ How can I purchase the licence? fazz68 wrote:
i think the trouble with using blender after you have been using sketchup forever is the fact you cant do everything with just your right hand on the mouse very rarely touching the keyboard. blender is very keyboard orientated, shift this and hold that and such. i have watched blender tutorials over and over and still find myself forgetting which key does what and going back and watching again. but i wont be beaten and eventually that knowledge might finally sink into my sketchup brain

Yea, I know how you feel.

I used to use Sketchup to model, (or rather to start practising 3D modelling), and the controls are really intuitive and easy to use. So I also found it difficult to change from them to Blender.

pity that there are no standards

I also agree here, I wish there would be a set of standards that everybody uses to make this sort of thing easy, but alas, the world just doesn't want it to be so

Play+ How can I purchase the licence? Hi Snoopy,

I know modelling can be difficult, especially if you are new to it. We have had quite a few requests over the years to have more file types included in the import options, as such, FBX is becoming quite prominent within the animation industry, so it seemed logical that we include it.

I personally used to know very little about modelling up until I started watching these YouTube tutorials on Blender.

Now I feel more confident with it and although I would still say I'm not a modeller, I can put together some nice basic things and import them over using the FBX exporter.

The Wiki is also getting updated all the time to include tutorials and helpful information regarding the new features, be it the FBX importing or hand holding stuff.

I hope you download Blender and give it a go as it's not hard at all once you watch a few I should know as I was the biggest sceptic around! Now I can make quite a few objects and get them in Muvizu!

P.s. here is the link for Blender! http://www.blender.org/

All the best,

-Mike.

Video Codecs Hi Mungy,

May I ask what resolution you are trying to render out at?

Some codecs will only do up to a certain resolution, as such, you may have all the codecs you need, it's just that the codecs won't support the resolution you are going for.

Here is what we have on codecs from our Wiki: http://www.muvizu.com/Wiki/wiki/78/codecs

The K-Lite pack includes the 32 and 64 bit codecs these days, so no need to download one or the other.

Try rendering out at a lower resolution to see if you get more codec options and increase as necessary.

Hope this helps!

Introducing myself, Questions Hi Dagon, to make the road stop flickering, edit it, then go to the 'Lighting' option and untick 'Cast Shadows'. Hopefully this will stop the flickering for you.

Double left click on the Heroine character to edit her, then click the little arrow next to the Face category. Then Glasses, then click None. This should take away the goggles for you.

Hope this helps!

this is a bug? Hi sofie9536,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

I think we have something on our bug system about this and hopefully we will have a fix out for it in the near future!

Hope it doesn't stop you having fun with the software in the mean time.

Please help me about Texture Do you wish to add your own guitar object into Muvizu, then make a character hold / use it?

If so, I'm afraid this isn't possible at this time yet, but something we are looking into for the future.

If it's just a background texture you're looking to add, you can import it onto a Backdrop object.

*Side note: Characters have guitar objects they can hold already in Muvizu. If you create a man character, for example, you can go to their edit menu and down to the Instruments option at the bottom and then click any of the guitars and they will hold it ready for any animations you want to give them.

I hope this helps!

Let us know how you get on...

A couple of noob questions, Model and texture size I'll get the second Q one out the way first.

The object you are bringing in to Muvizu will need a lot of space to get imported, so back your view up and rise up a bit until you find a sweet spot that will let you import your large object, it's trying to import it into a space that is to small.

If you are still having no luck, you can edit the size of the model in Sketchup and reduce it a little until you can import it into Muvizu.

First Q:

You can import some really big things into Muvizu so the model you have should be no probs...

Third Q:

You should use the texturing abilities of Sketchup to modify your your dome cube before you bring it in. I remember hearing of a nice Sketchup plugin called Fredo Tools...it's excellent for texturing and painting objects in Sketchup. Have a wee Google of that and let us know how you get on!
