some of my saved projects will not open Hello again rwtread01,

When you loaded the custom content into Muvizu was it on a DVD, pen drive or other removable media?

Take care,
-Jim.

some of my saved projects will not open Hello rwtread01, sorry you are having trouble.

Could I please ask you a couple of questions?

Does an error message show up when Muvizu crashes? If so what is it?
When you save the sets is Muvizu running in low memory mode?
Have you got any custom content in the set? (Models, textures, sounds etc.)

Take care,
-Jim.

Rab ibto a problem Morning Michael/Wayfinder,

I have been using Sketchup 8 and the plugin together with pretty good results - however there is the occasional model which can cause problems with Muvizu.

I would recommend trying out a simple shape, such as a cube, to double-check that there isn't a problem with the plugin.

If you are able to import the simple shape into Muvizu then there is a problem with the model.

The most common problems are:

1. The model is too complex and cannot be exported properly
2. The collision geometry is invalid

The easiest to check is the collision Geometry- if you open up the model with a text editor (notepad ++ is the best, in my opinion) and delete the collision geometry. The Geometry is everything after, and including this:

*GEOMOBJECT {
*NODE_NAME "UCX_pCubeShape1"
*NODE_TM {
*NODE_NAME "UCX_pCubeShape1"

If the model doesn't have the "UCX_" in it that means there isn't any collision geometry.

If the model still doesn't work after removing the collision geometry (or it never had any to begin with) could you please send the model to bugs@muvizu.com ? Hopefully we will be able to figure out what the problem is.

Take care,
-Jim.

Dead hard Hi again Mick,

Still no sign on our system - looks like the Google gremlins have stolen your video! If you try uploading it again it will hopefully work.

Take care, and I hope you have a nice Christmas too.

Dead hard Hi again Mick,

Still no sign, but it might still show up - what you could do in the meantime is double-check that the syndication is set to YES, you do this by going to YouTube>Your Username>My Videos>Edit>Syndication.

If it's set to yes, then everything should be fine - if it's set to no then it may have been flagged by YT for having some form of copyrighted content. You can try setting it to yes, but YT might set it back to no at their next update (8am UK time).

If it doesn't show up tomorrow (and syndication is on) then there is definitely a problem, so you would need to upload the video again. If you want to try uploading it again before then feel free, as it might actually be quicker.

Take care,
-Jim.

Dead hard Mick,

It might still show up this evening, so I will try to keep an eye out for it.

Dead hard Hi again Mick,

Still no sign on our system, so I was just wondering if you uploaded your video via the application or Muvizu.com?

Take care,
-Jim.

Dead hard Hi Mick,

It hasn't shown up on our system yet, but it can take up to 24 hours for YouTube to send through the updates.

Take care,
-Jim

puppeteering or manual animation Hi Mick,

It's not something that's currently planned, but I know that the Devs would love to give you guys more control of the characters (if they can keep the system simple )

Take care,
-Jim

Fish and Globes Hi Huggy,

You cannot move or "favourite" groups for further use at present - the devs are looking into the possibility but they are concentrating on the Engine update at the moment, so it will probably be a while before either of these are looked at properly.

You could create a Goldfish in Sketchup or another modelling package and import it.

Take care,
-Jim.

Greyed out actions Hi again putinboot, sorry you are having trouble.

Could I get a bit more detail from you please? Just to see if it's the same thing that Dreeko mentioned:

Is it just the Angry animations that are greyed out?
If so is it all of the Angry animations?

Take care,
-Jim

Muvizu Install Hi putinboot, thanks for trying Muvizu.

We have seen this happen in the past, but I think it might be the first time that it's happened on an XP machine - I will update the bug.

Thanks very much for letting us know.

Take care,
-Jim.

Import from Sketchup and replace instrument Well good luck and if you have any questions or problems just post them on the forum, the other users and Muvizu staff are generally pretty good at explaining things or coming up with ideas.

Movie in background You could use the monitor (or any object that you can put a texture on) if you scaled it up enough, but the easiest way to do it without using 3rd party programmes would be to use backdrops (as they have no border).

Import from Sketchup and replace instrument Nice one! Fingers crossed that it turns out well
