Lack of creation Hi Phoenix10, sorry you are having trouble.

What version of Muvizu is on your PC?

You can find out by going to "About" on the menu and the build number is formatted like : 2010.XX.XX

Take care,
-Jim.

Importing from Google Sketchup No Problem Ziggy - I am looking forward to seeing it.

Although I have to admit I am reminded of the Comedian Billy Connolly who went to Banjo lessons and ended up being the teacher as he was 1 lesson ahead of the rest of the class.

Take care,
-Jim.

Top things we love about our users I feel the need to share my favourite Simpsons quote:

Cannot Make Movie Hi Callum/David,

We are trying to find out which piece of software is causing the conflict, so that we can create a fix that doesn't involve a new operating system - hopefully the devs will have their test software sorted soon.

As for the Timeline not working - is the green bar present after you load? If it's not drag the second diamond to the end of your video and everything should (hopefully) work as planned.

Take care,
-Jim.

Importing from Google Sketchup Hi Ziggy,

Toonarama is correct, a lot of models have that default textures if you save then load the set (including the Mustang, unfortunately) - it is going to be fixed for the next release.

If your models have that texture as soon as you have created them then you may have your default texture set up incorrectly:

You need a bitmap which has a size that's a multiple of 256x256 (i.e. 512x512 or 1024x1024 will also work).

You need to save it as toto.bmp in the directory C:\UT3 - and if you make it a nice obvious colour it will make things easier.

Take care,
-Jim.

Cannot Make Movie Hi again Callum,

The devs are looking into possible causes for this error - they are looking into creating small application that can figure out exactly what is going wrong - would you be willing to give it a go once they have got it up and running?

Take care,
-Jim.

Cannot Make Movie Hi again Callum,

Nothing obvious there I am afraid, one quick request though - could you please try making another movie - i.e. create a new set, spawn a character and record 1/2 random animations then make that video.

This will allow us to see if it's caused by something in the set or by a general incompatibility.

Take care,
-Jim.

Cannot Make Movie Hi Callum,

Sorry this hasn't worked - could you please check for a log? If one has been generated it may tell us the specific reason why this is happening (they are not always generated, unfortunately)

They are located in the Muvizu\MuvizuGame\Logs directory and are called Launch.txt.

Take care,
-Jim

Cannot Make Movie Hi again Callum,

Guess we can rule out Sony Vegas then..... some users who have had problems with Muvizu saving files have had luck with uninstalling it and reinstalling it in a different directory - as long as you save your .set file your video should remain intact.

For example it is currently c:\Programme Files\Muvizu so please try c:\Muvizu as your destination folder during the installation.

Please let me know how you get on.

Take care,
-Jim.

Build-a-being Hi Huggy,

That can't be done at the moment, but with the addition of Animated Objects in November it should be possible.

Take care,
-Jim.

Cannot Make Movie Hi again,

Sony Vegas 7 has been known to cause some compatibility problems - we haven't seen any with 8 (yet) would it be possible to please try saving a video with Vegas disabled or uninstalled?

Take care,
-Jim.

Halloween Film Fest Promo Hi WarLord, welcome to Muvizu.

I really enjoyed that, the animation and script were very well done. Hopefully you will inspire some of our other users to enter.

Cannot Make Movie Hi Callum,

You can't run programmes as an administrator in XP, it's purely for Vista and 7 - sorry for any confusion. I was hoping that I could ask a few more questions:

What codecs have you tried using?

Are you able to save your set from Muvizu?

Are you able to save videos using other software, such as VirtualDub or Windows Movie Maker?

Take care,
-Jim.

Cannot Make Movie Hi bonyman, sorry you are having trouble.

Have you tried running Muvizu as an administrator?

What operating system do you have?

Take care,
-Jim.

Animatable objects-props Hello again Iwan,

Adding textures to objects has been suggested in the past, and it is something that a lot of us want to see but it may be a while before it can be looked at.

Releasing animated objects to allow them to be effected by physics is something that is going to be looked at but it may not be implemented.

"Point & Click" controls have also been suggested in the past and we are looking into it.

Take care,
-Jim.

going nowhere fast Dreeko wrote:

Yes, on that subject, is the ability to change the speed of a moving background over the animation something that will also be possible with the animating object properties in the coming update?

example: character starts walikng, background starts moving, character stops, background stops

cheers

Thumbs Up

Should be able to change pretty much every property of any object/camera/effect etc

going nowhere fast Hi again Dreeko/Toonarama,

Seems like that could be pretty useful - it would also be good for a cartoon-style running away sequence where they start to run on the spot then shoot off.

Take care,
-Jim.

Animated lights? Hi Dreeko/Toonarama,

The ability to Animate Properties and Objects is scheduled for the November release.

This will include lights - so you should be able to do day/night transitions and turn lights on/off, as well as move them around your scene.

If you have any other questions or suggestions just let us know.

Take care,
-Jim

Animatable objects-props Good Morning Iwan,

Object animation and Animated Properties are due to be in the next release, which is scheduled for the start of November. This will allow you to animate object movement, as well as change their colour/size etc. during your movie.

As we are building upon a game engine the "game" aspects, such as character movement, were the first things that were implemented - also please remember that we are still in Beta and as such Muvizu is still a work in progress.

We are trying to add as much functionality as possible while keeping Muvizu easy to use.

If you have any other questions or suggestions please let us know.

Take care,
-Jim.
