I'm 64bit here fwiw and it works fine.

and so was mine till this update. i was just pointing out the 64bit version doesn't work for me, not saying that the 64bit version doesn't work at all. there's obviously a problem somewhere, whether it be my end or muvizu's end. this just narrows down a bit where that problem may be.

and now the mystery deepens. i install the 64bit version along side the 32bit version and the 64bit now works.... dun dun dahhhh

perhaps it needed a jump start from its sibling????? who knows? anyways.... problem solved.... i can now go to bed Big Grin

Fazz, were you doing anything in particular when you got that crash or was it just starting up? If you haven't already, it's probably worth uninstalling it completely - and then re-installing it.

done that... done every combination there is. update install, full install, lite install, ticked boxes, unticked boxes, completely removed all trace and clean installed etc etc etc it gets to the muvizu splash screen then....

everything is working fine on my system, all drivers are up to date. system is more than capable of running muvizu. it just doesnt want to work.

update........................ the 32bit version runs ok.......... 64bit doesn't which is strange since ive used the 64bit version since forever....

I'm just about to test it out for the first time. Are you able to run it in compatibility mode for windows 7? (And does that function even exist)
edited by MrDrWho13 on 25/02/2016

nope. wont run in windows 7 or 8 compatibility mode. wont run as administrator just plain old wont run fullstop and my system is more than capable of handling muvizu.

Did I mention I want a dragon?

as do we all mate and everything we have asked for. will it come? cant answer that, im just the same as you. theres nothing id love more than a muvizu pro version to do everything i want to do. i hit the muvizu wall of not being able to do what i want a long time ago and theres only so many work arounds that you can do without becoming frustrated...
muvizu has a tendancy to go quiet for a long time. then they burst into activity again Big Grin

hopefully that burst of activity will be soon..... do you hear me muvizu gods????

And actually I recall them directing someone to edit an INI file for something, keybindings maybe, so I don't know that they would be upset.

depends on what you find to mess with Big Grin
dont get me wrong, you can play around in the workings of muvizu as much as you like, it make no odds to me, just be a wee bit careful of what you might change/find. if you do find the magical switch that allows you to import armature then i know they would be quite upset.
try importing a fbx file with no model info on it. you will get an error message about not being licensed to access that feature or words to that effect. these things have been explored or are still being explored by muvizu. who knows what they have in the pipeline? all im saying is be a bit careful

Edit DefaultEngine.ini? just saying.... if you poke around in the workings of muvizu to much they might not be too impressed and might take your licence away...
its not really like a game that they want to be modded by users. at the end of the day this is their livelihood and i imagine anything that might be uncovered in the way extra importing of things ie... characters, actions etc etc by users of the software enhanced by us and thus lose them income might be not welcomed by them.... just saying like

I'd really love to see that ball moving faster. I wish Muvizu engaged more with the community in the production of assets. Is there anyone from the company that is active in the forum?

they will have a staff label under their avatar if they are muvizu. they do appear but not that much nowdays. but they do read this forum all the time.

Moving water like in the Chinese History pack? and to an answer your original question about the water moving thing. i thought the same thing during testing. its mainly done with normal maps but quite how they do it is a mystery. dunno if you could rig something up using avi's and normal maps? never got round to trying. but its fbx so have a little experiment with it. thats all part of the fun
