How to install ase exporter in sketchup! roland1963 wrote:
Nothing is working...

The only path I got is c:\program files(x86)\Sketchup\Sketchup2016\ifcplugin

I tried copying the .rb file in there... but then, after restarting Sketchup, I have no Plugins in the Tools tab.

I tried going into Export tab to try to do something. When I export in 3D, there is no ASE options but fbx and others.

As far as any PlugIn Tab n the tool bar, it is absent as well...

This is called Enigma!

That'll be because you're using sketchup 2016 not sketchup 8.
When you install sketchup 8, the file directory will be as it says on the page, and the exporter will appear under the "plugins" tab.

If you really want to keep using your sketchup version, you could try moving the .rb file to this location:

on my windows 8 machine, the install path is as follows:
c:\users\your name\appdata\roaming\sketchup\sketchup 2015\sketchup\plugins\muvizuaseexporter.rb

If you manually place the file there, you'll probably have to change your permissions to see those directories. By default, I think some of them are not visible

I already downloaded this stuff... The path mentioned in the link, ie, (c:\program files(x86)\Google\Google Sketchup8\Plugins),

is incorrect with Windows 8...

The operating system shouldn't affect the installation path at all.
Are you sure you're using google sketchup 8? I have a download link for it here if you need it:

HOLIDAY SHOWCASE 2015 PatMarrNC wrote:
-- the inside joke, presumably on the name of one of our forum members?

Doctor Who's a British sci-fi show: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Who
The main character is called "The Doctor" which is where the joke comes from.
K9 is a robot dog in the show, so K99 is a parody of this character.

HOLIDAY SHOWCASE 2015 I'd like to clarify that I didn't make any of these videos.
All the praise goes to:
  • Dreeko (The iDea, Batman begins with a B, The Micheal Caine dog, and On the news - Border control)
  • Jonbez (Ninja assassins, The Princess Rescue, The Who)
  • Ziggy (Mysteries of Science #3, A fistful of coders)
  • Toonarama (Vince demands more Muvizu satire)
  • and Dylly (Independence)
I'm sure Berty will be on the list when his feature length video is released.

In the spirit of the season, I invite everyone to post their favorite MUVIZU video here... then I hope people will ooh and aaah and say how awesome it is. ;-)

Oh dear, so much pressure for a single video.

Ok so after much searching of what I could remember, this is my favourite for pure simplicity and showing what Muvizu was designed for - stupid little sketches to make you laugh:

My runners up are on this playlist (In order of popularity according to youtube):

Wow this list is long, there are too many brilliant Muvizu videos!

While rooting through ancient videos I found this relic: http://www.muvizu.com/Video/13979/silence-of-the-coders (Most of these have been done now, dragons must be next on the list)

Buzzball Day 3 PatMarrNC wrote:
Since we're less than a week away from Christmas, how about a special holiday showcase of your favorite muvizu clips? By posting links in a forum post, we can comment like so many did on Artpen's Buzzball video. Yeah, we may have seen them before, but we may not have had the opportunity to COMMENT.

This is a great community of users, and a showcase celebration with comments would be a real community builder! It might also be good advertising for the product. (Remember the concept of "sell the dream".) There is no greater sales tool than a collection of positive reviews! And our positive reviews of your Muvizu creation will reflect favorably on the product as well as on your own personal creativity.

The Band In A Box software I use has a User Showcase forum on their web site, where people post the songs they've created with that product then others comment constructively. It is the most active forum on the web site. People help one another and get inspired. hint hint.

Interesting idea, so we post our favourite videos made on Muvizu?
I'll happily participate if you make a thread for it.

Content store opens it's doors! clayster2012 wrote:
you know what would be really cool?
If it was possible for muvizuers to be able to sell their own content in the store as well, I been getting a lot of request to buy my sets, and I would really love to share them, and time to time I will share one are two,but there a lot of sets and characters that I worked really hard on, and the thought of selling my work has crossed my mind, but wondering what will every one expect to pay for my sets?

There's been another thread dedicated to this: http://www.muvizu.com/Forum/topic5278-market-place.aspx
You will be able to sell your own content in the future but they still need to sort out the system, how things are priced, moderation etc.

Buzzball Day 3 Brilliant as always! It really is Christmas with all these excellent videos appearing!

I loved the way you moved the camera just as if it were being held.

Failed to load object from file Ah ok, I don't have any notes on the Nov 10 version since I skipped it.
Here is 2015.09.22.01R - the most recent stable version:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-_4UVPr59ACVV9EZWZCMzdQSlk
Here's 2015.11.07.01R - Which, in theory, shouldn't have this problem but does have bugs directing head movement.

I'll post in this thread when there's an update if I remember.

No, this update is the one with the problem, I can give you the links for previous versions if needed, or you can wait for the new version (Apparently coming this week)

Another bug making my video You're probably using a standing action when your character is sat down. Try again with the character standing.

Issue With Default Camera View LugofilmLtd wrote:
So I just downloaded and installed the latest update (from 11/17/15) and now when I launch the program, the default view is on the ground looking straight up and it won't let me swivel the view to be horizontal. It swivels in a circle left or right but won't swivel the other way. Help!

Do you have a joystick or extra input device attached to your computer? That might be the cause of the problem.

Fair point. Your content packs and licences are tied to your account so uninstalling shouldn't affect anything.
Since you've had problems with other programs too, it sounds like a graphics driver issue. Have you got the latest drivers for your graphics card?

If none of this helps, send in a support ticket: http://www.muvizu.com/Support They'll probably answer tomorrow.

I opened Muvizu today for the first time in a while... and the camera view window is gone! Clicking VIEW > SHOW CAMERAS WINDOW does not work.

Also, if I right click on a camera or other object, then click EDIT.... nothing happens. No properties dialog appears.

Right click > edit for characters still works

Is anybody else experiencing this?

the timeline won't appear either

I don't know the solution to this problem, but I think I understand what's going on. It sounds like the windows for these things are behind the main Muvizu window. Have you tried reinstalling?

Yep, the 750ti has double the RAM which might improve it a bit (Not that much though, as you can see here: http://www.hwcompare.com/17279/geforce-gtx-750-vs-geforce-gtx-750-ti/ ). If you really want performance increases to almost real-time rendering then you might want to go with the GTX 970 or 980ti. These will set you back over £250 though.

I do have an Nvidia Gt 630 card with 2 gigs of RAM, it's passively cooled so I know it's not the speediest but when I looked into getting a faster one I don't see much difference in the bandwidth which I'm assuming is the critical part. I'm going to try rendering on my other computer which has a faster card, but a slower CPU, and see how that goes.

The slower CPU shouldn't matter too much with Muvizu since it relies almost completely on the graphics. If you do look into upgrading, look at something like the gtx 750ti or even the gtx 970 if you want it lightning fast.
