Hi Blowe56789,

There are two ways to do your set positioning, both of which have their plus points:

Before animation
After animation

Before animation:
If you animate in a set that's built you know where the objects are and can animate accordingly. You will probably have a character stop short or run past where you want them to go, but this can be sorted by re-recording or by altering their starting position: all movement is relative, i.e. if you want a characters end point to move by 10 feet you move their starting point by 10 feet.

After animation:
This allows you to place objects in a position where the characters are already performing animations - the only downside is that this can be quite time consuming and you may end up with gaps in the backdrops.

I, personally, go for a combination of the two - I build a set that can be edited to fit the animations, if needed, that way I do not really need to worry too much about re-recording or gaps in backdrops.

If you have any other questions or suggestions please let us know.

Take care,
-Jim.
