Troubleshooting - Drivers and other system software

In order to maximise performance and reduce the likelihood of errors we recommend keeping your graphics card drivers, DirectX, .Net 4.0 and C++ up to date.

You can download the most recent versions of each below:

Graphics Card Drivers

If you do not know what type of graphics card your PC has then the easiest way to find out, in all versions of Windows, is to run "DXDiag" and go to the display tab. In Windows XP you need to go to Start>Run>DXDiag, whilst in Vista, 7 and 8 you simply need to type in DXDiag and hit enter after you click the start button. Here is a guide on how to use DXDiag

The drivers themselves can also be manufacturer-specific, and as such you may need to contact your PC manufacturer for up-to-date drivers if you have a laptop or pre-built PC (Such as a Dell).
