Troubleshooting - Drivers and other system software

In order to maximise performance and reduce the likelihood of errors we recommend keeping your graphics card drivers, DirectX (Both 9 and 11), .Net 4.0 and C++ re-distributable up to date.

You can download the most recent versions of each below:

If you do not know what type of graphics card your PC has then the easiest way to find out, in all versions of Windows, is to run "DXDiag" and go to the display tab. In Windows XP you need to go to Start>Run>DXDiag, whilst in Vista, 7 and 8 you simply need to type in DXDiag after you click the start button.

Intel on-board graphics chips generally have difficulty running Muvizu, and any made prior to 2005 cannot run it at all as they lack Shader Model 3.0.

The drivers themselves can also be manufacturer-specific, and as such you may need to contact your PC manufacturer for up-to-date drivers.
