There is currently no "lying down" pose for characters, so in order to have a character lie down you need to animate them into that position using "Fall Into Grave" or another "Falling down" animation.
If you want to have a character lying down at the start of a video you can start all of the other animation after the character has fallen down and crop the Timeline so that your video starts 8-10s later than normal, meaning that the falling down animation isn't recorded.
