Hey guys, I'm about to start my first proper project now I know how to actually use this wonderful programme.
To be honest the fact it takes an hour to render a ten second scene is really putting me off from starting.
Im currently using a laptop which is obviously slower, I'm thinking of buying a PC with graphics card - just wondering if you guys find it makes much difference or if those are standard times for high res scenes with shadow/lots of characters etc?

It will definitely improve things, but obviously you get what you pay for. a $400 PC is probably not going to serve you that well.

Make sure you have a decent separate graphics card and at least 8GB RAM. Also an i5 or equivalent CPU is your entry point.

Hope this helps.

For graphics cards, the minimum would be something like the gtx 750ti. If you want more power, you might want to look into some newer cars like the rx480 and gtx 1060.
