Walking in a straight line lchicker wrote:
I had the same problem. If you use a straight edge, like a ruler, and run the mouse along it you will have a straight path. Hope this helps.

That's a great tip!

Winter is not finished here... Not Muvizu related but I thought I'd share with you guys...

Today where I am, (near St. Louis Missouri) we are under a blizzard warning. We are going to get 2 or more feet of snow along with freezing rain, sleet and constant wind speeds of over 35 miles per hour. We have been warned that there are going to be wide spread power outages and that most of the roads will be impassable for several days. Oh and a temperature of -15 degrees (-27 C).

Sounds like fun eh?

If we get the "full force" of this storm, and the national weather service says we will, then things are going to get very interesting around here for the next several days.

bleeding edge beta and things that made me go hmmn Emily, yes I have an ATI Fire Pro 4800 graphics card. These little "glitches" don't really bother me, it's all part of being in the "bleeding edge" community. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! Rock Bandrock on

Oh dear, I seem to be finding more stuff...

This time, it's a wierd effect only seen at distance - I have a fat man character with a beard (not the fake option) and he looks fine in Unlit mode, but when he's Lit his beard dissapears the further the camera gets from him (a block at a time). This effect also appears to effect eyelids and faces at distance when Lit - you can actually see it in Freshsmint's Police Academy vid (the female officer has a white block of missing skin under her eyes). I'm shooting around it for now, but...help!

I've had this same issue with a few videos I've made. Very strange.

facial animation workaround Dreeko wrote:
It's a handy technique for different facial expressions until there is an update to muvizu which includes a facial animation system

If the muvizu eyebrows had the ability to be animated in a similar manner to the image switching I've shown as well as having a movement animation option for raising and lowering individual brows and also as a pair. Add to that a better control system for the eyelids - fully open/closed, rapid to zero blinking, and pupils that go all the way from one side of the eyeball to the other then the happy/sad/angry etc states would take care of the mouth side of the expression and it would be all there as far as I can see for an animation system for the face

Thoughts?

That pretty much sums it up. It's on my "want" list.

facial animation workaround That's a very clever way of doing things! Top shelf Dreeko!

How do i copy actions? freakmoomin beat me to the punch. I was going to suggest the same thing. It's not as hard to do as you may think. Well, unless you have several characters and even then it's not that difficult, just time consuming. Using the timeline can be a bit tricky at times but with a little practice you'll get the hang of it.

Creating a story for new animated series... I agree with Dreeko, don't worry about being funny or what others think. Just have fun animating. I look forward to seeing your creations.

Creating a story for new animated series... I too have pretty much the same process as jonbez and freakmoomin. I'll create a basic set and a few characters and stare and mess around with them for a few hours until an idea pops up. Like jonbez mentioned, this doesn't always work.

My inspiration the "fart" animations came from a fellow I used to work with. This guy took great pride in being able to "pass gas" when ever and where ever he wanted to. He didn't care where he was or who was around either, he'd just "let er rip". He would always do a fist pump and say yessssssss! after he was finished too. He was basically a "walking cartoon character" and very proud of his "talent". It isn't difficult to come up with funny ideas for animations with this guy.

For me, doing the actual animation is a LOT easier then coming up with a good idea to animate.

Noob Questions: CODEC Error and Importing Music Do you have a dedicated graphics chip with it's own memory or an integrated chip that shares the computers ram?

newbie Welcome to the world of Muvizu!

better way to move characters I have a 2 year old ASUS "gaming laptop" with an Nvidia 512 mb dedicated graphics chip, 4 gigs of ram and an Intel 2.26mz duel core processor. It's running Windows Vista 64 bit and runs Muvizu really well. I also ran Lightwave 3d and Maya 64 bit with no problems. When I got my new kit a few months ago I gave it to my wife and it's still running like a champ.

It was quite "pricey" when I bought it a few years ago but for what I wanted to do it was worth the extra money. The same system can be had for much less today.

In my experience with graphics and animation programs I have found that having the fastest processor you can afford, a good graphics card with as much on board memory as you can afford, as much ram you can afford and the biggest hard drive you can afford all make a big difference in how your system will perform.

I am no expert with computers by any means but through my years of using them keeping the above things in mind when buying a new system has helped me greatly.
