Hi y'all, I have been working on a little dance routine for three characters. As some of you know it's a bit of a chore to synch up movement to music, etc. with lots of tweaking required. Two of my characters are basically mirror images of each other, movement wise, and I know if I copy a character, the 'prepare character actions' pallet is copied too. Is it possible to copy and paste the actual movements somehow? That would save a ton of work.

Been asked for many many times. No harm in asking again though

And again, and again.

Still my favourite Muvizu quote.

Currently there's a page that has all of them on: http://www.muvizu.com/GetAssets
However, a store is coming soon.

I actually figured out (after I'd almost finished of course) that if you put the same 'cue points' on the characters time-line ahead of recording it makes things way easier. It sure would be nice to have more than ONE time-line open though.

There are some buttons on the top of the timeline to show or hide anything that's been recorded, so you should be able to show other character's movements at the same time.

The skates work well theotherguy, glad to see you got them sorted

@MickeyAardvark When the Asset store opens, you probably will be able to buy (or maybe request) specific outfits and attachments. We shall see...

If you look at MUVIZU as one part of an integrated system that includes standalone audio and video editing programs, then new possibilities become evident. Every component of a system having multiple parts has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Instead of waiting for one of the components (MUVIZU) to provide solutions for every need, consider the fact that most video editing programs are really good at all sorts of effects like mirroring.

I'd guess that most people already use MUVIZU to make small scenes that get edited in another software product. Take that same idea to the next level by putting a green background behind one dancer, choreograph his/her dance, then import that one dance scene into multiple tracks in your video editor, mirroring or transforming there as needed.

If you don't want exactly the same dancer, you can make copies of the MUVIZU project once the dance scene is choreographed, and change clothes on the dancer and regenerate the scene with exactly the same moves, almost no extra work.

Lots of ways to skin a cat. (figuratively speaking. No cats were actually skinned in the making of this post) ;-)

You make a very good point PatManNC.

To expect Muvizu to be the one stop shop from idea to completion is not realistic if you have a project with a certain degree of complexity. Third party software for image, audio, object creation etc will have to come in to play to realise your vision .

However, for the casual user who simply wishes to create a quick funny video for friends or their own entertainment then yes, Muvizu can be the standalone solution.

With Muvizu you can -

Record audio
Design sets with in built objects
Create and customise characters
Direct characters, objects, lights and cameras
Cut between different cameras bypassing editing later.

..and with new features now appearing at a more regular rate, the complexity level for a video where the user has to turn to a third party program for completion will only become higher over time.

Cheers
D

PS: You don't even have to green screen any more! the layers feature has made it obsolete!

Muvizu is a great tool, however if you're working in 3-D environments, or simulating 3-D environments, then there is nothing you can do in a video editor that will look that convincing. For instance, I could clone a track of a dancer and eventually have a whole whack of them in a line, that would be fine from one angle, but if I changed to another angle, I would have to do it all over again.

The only insiders as far as I know are the staff. They'll probably be tight lipped about updates until they're released so it's pretty much a waiting game at the moment.
