Now that the Muvizu site is up again (for how long we don't know) you might want to check & see if all of your UVmaps are installed.
Check by loading a character, then EDIT > DECALS > CUSTOM TEXTURES > UV TEMPLATES (click on the arrow to see what's loaded)

If you bought them, you should have all of the UVMaps shown below:

Asian boy
Asian girl
Asian man
Asian woman
south Asian boy

south Asian girl
south Asian man
south Asian woman
Beefy
Heroine
Mandy
Rosie

if any of those shown above aren't in your list (assuming you bought them) by re-downloading and installing them again, they should populate your list. Apparently the UVMaps weren't included in the original download, so if you bought the character pack soon after it was released, you probably didn't get the UVMaps. They were added later, and are now a part of the download.

update: some of the uvmaps required me to reinstall the full version of Muvizu. Apparently installing updates from the automated live prompt does not also update the character packs.

Thanks Pat, just checked and noticed that my copy of the South Asian Character Pack didn't have the UVmaps. Downloading and re-installing the exe fixed the problem.

Glad it helped, Witchy! I suspect that a lot of people would benefit by checking this now while we have a window of opportunity to DL and reinstall the latest versions of character packs and the core program. Once this window closes, there won't be any more chance to do so.

Thanks for this tip, Pat! I have a question for you or anyone here who might know.

First a touch of background: I bought the Asian character set a couple of months ago, and they appear in my character creation menu. Following your lead, I checked my decals for the Asian character set, and see nothing in the UV templates area within muvizu, nor on the website, I reinstalled the Asian character set and executed the set. I still see nothing for them in their UV template menu, nor on the site (at http://www.muvizu.com/Info/98/Custom-textures), so now I'm thinking I should reinstall muvizu itself.

I have my license key, but am unsure how to safely reinstall muvizu. Do I go to my downloads file on my hard drive and reactivate my original install? If I understand correctly, it's not a question of doing an update, but of using my original license key to install from scratch. Should I delete the program from my hard drive before reinstalling from the downloads area?

Thanks for any tips!

Replying to myself here. OK, I found a couple of hair styles and a couple of outfits for the Asian characters in the UV area. Maybe I do already have those UV maps installed after all. :-)

I'm back with another question here about the UV map outfits. I wonder why my Asian characters have only a couple of plain clothes outfits and not the fancy long dresses and colorful pantaloons pictured on the website. Do I in fact need to reinstall all of muvizu and not just execute the new character download (after all)? I is sooo cofused....... lol.

Hi DeannaC,

Do you have the Asian Characters or the South Asian? I think the dress you're talking about is from the South Asian pack.

I think Ikes is correct in saying that the dress and pantaloons are part of the South Asian character pack. The outfits shown in the store ad for the Asian characters are pretty much all you get... You can change the color and texture of those outfits, but the type of clothing (shorts as opposed to dresses) is limited to what came with that set. I know. Bummer.

Do I in fact need to reinstall all of muvizu and not just execute the new character download (after all)? I is sooo cofused....... lol.

At this point I would be reluctant to advise anybody to reinstall, mostly because I firmly believe in Murphy's law and I wouldn't want to feel responsible for encouraging friends to mess up something that still worked until they followed my dumb advice. ;-(

While it is convenient to find UVMaps from inside the program, many people find it more convenient to have all of the UVMaps on their hard drive where they can be conveniently opened in an editor. With that thought in mind, Ziggy has posted all of the UVMaps here in a zip file: https://1drv.ms/u/s!ALlUfF5OI9dJgUM

Rather than reinstalling the program, you're probably better off downloading Ziggy's UVMaps and storing them somewhere you can find them easily when you need them.

Aha, yes! That's right, Ike. I've been confused about which character set I'm talking about. I appear to have everything for the Asian set.

Does anyone know whether I can safely buy the South Asian pack today given that muvizu is going into bankruptcy?

Thanks for any leads.

Unfortunately, nothing more can be bought from the store at this time. I wouldn't expect that to change any time soon.

Ah well! I'll have to get creative with those UV maps then! Luckily, I downloaded pretty much every free asset there is a while ago. Phew!

Looking forward to catching up with you guys on the new forum should this one become inaccessible.

Hi
As Pat said, we wouldn't like you to lose your copy of Muvizu from a re-install. However, if you did want to re-install but keep your licence, you should be able to copy the licence file over with no problems.
First you should install another copy of Muvizu under a different name (An option will come up near the start of the installation process). The default is Muvizu Play. In the old Muvizu install folder, you should see another folder named MuvizuGame. Inside the the MuvizuGame folder, you will find a Licence folder which you can copy and paste into the new Muvizu folder.
I've tried this a couple of times and it seems to work just fine as long as it's on the same computer as the original copy of Muvizu.

Thanks for the tip, MrDrWho13! Is the rationale for installing a second copy of muvizu on the same computer -- under a different name -- in case one version gets corrupt?

It's long standing advice from the forum because, in the past, new versions have had severe bugs so it was always best to install a second version to test out before upgrading.
