The only format that worked for me in any Muvizu version was AVI uncompressed videos made with after effects.
Those videos have to be short to not produce long files.
In 1.7 version some compressed videos using msmpeg3 codec worked but when I tried 1.8 version they stopped working.

Try this video in your system and tell me if it worked. It is avi uncompressed made with after effects

Import AVI sucess I have spent about 3 evenings trying to import an AVI. I don't have any knowledge of codecs but I must have loaded them all. I exported from premier in many AVI formats, I followed all the advise on this forum. I tried the test video from this forum also but always got "unrecognised format". So today, while the wife was away, I installed muvizu on her machine, added an object and imported an Xvid AVI first time. We both (still) run windows 7 so is this something to do with the hardware? does muvizu use the GPU?

Hullo Muvizuers I am a seasoned developer/creator from the UK, I have only just discovered Muvizu and I am very impressed.
I love the simple no nonsense bold interface and yet it is quite complex.
In the days of 16 bit computers, I won an animation competition run by Atari ST review, they announced the winner in the monthly magazine but they never sent me the prize!!!
I went on to develope games in dos, stos, amos, and many more game engines all of which have gone these days.
I have just started all over again with an html5 2d games website here - www.flat-earth.website where I shall also be displaying my muvies.
I have just finished my second muvi called Is Science Wak?, I'll post it in the video forum
Cheers
Bob

Roborough - a good first go at Muvizu - fun isn't it ?

I had also heard this before elsewhere and you really should credit the source material. Lots of us have animated to others audio but you should make that clear (especially in the current climate here!).

Also like Rocque, I'm no prude and personally enjoyed the bad language on the audio, but there needs to be a warning.

But don't be disheartened though and crack on with the next production.
