Lightweight Laptop Recommendations ? It's not really reasonable to expect a company to list specific models of laptops that may or may not be compatible. System requirements are one of the things that all software relies upon, so it might be more beneficial for you to understand what the system requirements are asking for, and understanding what they mean. It'd be much better for you in the longrun if you can come to grips with that.

Probelm In Making Video Who says they're not? I know with the holidays, they're all out of the office until the 6th (Monday), but there could be a dev eloper right this very second in the code looking for and fixing the issue. it's possible...

2D Muvizu-Type Software? Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is no such thing. But I truly wish there was...

2D Muvizu-Type Software? I have ToonBoom Animate Pro, CrazyTalk Pro ver 1 and the newer CrazyTalk Animator Pipeline ver 2, and Anime Studio Pro and of all of them, Anime Studio Pro is by far the most affordable and easiest to use. CrazyTalk Animator could have been a good product, but they made character customization practically non-existant and creating new characters from scratch is only supported through using 3rd party applications (Flash or DrawPlus) and is an exercise in mind-numbing tedium. Their newer version CrazyTalk Animator focuses on 3D animation for 2D characters, and even complicates the character creation process exponentially. And don't get me started on their "puppeteering" concept. You can't even keyframe their eye/pupil movement. ToonBoom is a good product, but it is very expensive, and difficult to use. Of the three Animae Studio Pro is the most affordable and easy to use, but it's not without it's own limitations and complications. But if I had to reccommend one over the other, it'd certainly be Anime Studio Pro.

Forgot to mention, Anime Studio Pro does have a character creation wizard, but it's pretty bad. ASP is only really worthwhile if you want to draw your characters from scratch. You can import from Illustrator I believe, or PNG images but it's certainly not a mix & match character creation system as Muvizu has. A good 2D keyframing application with this type of character creator would be a welcome product indeed...

Before and After Texture Help Thank you. I just loaded it up, and it looks great. Thank you again!

Before and After Texture Help Admittedly, I'm not that good at art stuff, so I was wondering if somebody would care to help. I'm looking for two textures for the Fat Man, a before and after... Just a plain white t-shirt and jeans for the before and the same for the after, except with some tears in the t-shirt and jeans, dirt scuffs along with a black eye, bloody lip, and perhap some missing teeth? The "after" texture would be after the character had gotten into a pretty bad fight...

Play+ - Hand Attachements I know one thing about the hand attachments, I wish the scale range was a bit more. I need a banana, and I have an FBX of one, but even scaled at the highetst valuem, it's still too small. Guess I need to find a modeler and create a new banana...

Returning User - Questions/Suggestions I last used Muvizu in 2011. I eventually stopped using it because even though it's a great piece of work, it's also frustrating to work with, specifically in the area of set building (indoor sets), camera animation, character movements, and ASE imports (with textures intact).

I've recently come back, looking to see what improvements, if any, have been made to this application. To help support future development, I puchased the Play+ license, thinking my minor contribution might help in some small way to get additional features and functionality into the application. I still really like the look, and the process as a whole, but there's still some areas that could use some developmental attention.

So I've a couple of questions and suggestions, and hope the developers are already working on, or other great Muvizu users could suggest work arounds for.

1. Snap to Grid/Snap to Object
I feel that a snapping option could really enhance the set building process. Especially with indoor sets. Connecting walls to make a room interior is currenly a figgly and tedious process. Building a room should really be as simple as dropping in some walls and snapping them together.

If anybody has some suggestions for interior set building, I'd sure love to read/see them. I was thinking of building my room in a 3D app and importing, but didn't know if it'd be a bigger hassle or not. If I were to build my room in an external app, say Sketchup or something, what scale would be best?

2. Nudging with Arrow Keys
Currently the arrow keys appear to control camera movements. is there anyway to override this to allow for nudging of objects for more precise positioning?

3. Camera animation with paths/waypoints
As it stands, animating cameras is still via WASD keys, and I know I'm not the only one (or am I?) that would like to see a waypoint or pathing system for camera animations (and character movements as well). Is there any mechanism to keep a certain object or character in view while the camera moves? Such as setting a camera target, and no matter where the targets moves to, the camera is always pointed at it?

Is there any way to attach a camera to something, so when that object or character moves, the camera will move along with it?

Thank you for any feedback or suggestions you may have...

Play+ - Hand Attachements Thank you very much fazz, I really appreciate your help!

Play+ - Hand Attachements What if the action itself has the hand in an open state? Will it open if I use that action? I know it don't "drop" the object, but it might not look right if their hand is open and there's something stuck to their palm...

Play+ - Hand Attachements Thank you, this has been tremendously helpful. I assume, if a character is holding something, none of the actions used on a character will interferewith the holding of said object?

Play+ - Hand Attachements Part of the functionality one gets with the Play+ purchase is the ability to import character attachments and hand held attachments. Is there any documentation or tutorials on how to accomplish this?

Crash on shutdown For anyone who might care, I did a complete uninstall (I still had a version of the original Muvizu pre Play days), deleted a bunch of directories manually, re-installed and it seemed to clear up my crash on shutdown. Thanx to all who responded!

Now if only I could get the activation for Play+ to work...

Crash on shutdown I did as suggested, allowing it to do the .NET, DirectX, and MS Runtime files (even though they should already have been there), and I get the same issue on shutting the app down.

You may have tried this already but - just in case - whenever I have had similar problems a fix that sometimes works is to uninstall and then
reinstall selecting all the checkboxes (ie .net and directx. For some reason it occasionally causes problems if you don't.

It is possible that someone is monitoring the support emails therefore (if you haven't already) I would send one in.

Yeah, when I started it up today it went through three updates, so I unchecked those since they're just platform installs, and don't contain any "game engine" data. So in effect already had those platform runtimes. But I'll give this a try and see what happens. Kind of a PITA to have to do those files over and over again, especially since I'm a software developer and those platform files are always up to date.

No, only a single monitor.

Are you sure about that?

It doesn't seem reasonable for a customer to have to wait that length of time for a resolution to a showstopper like that. Especially since Christmas isn't that big a deal in Glasgow. Hogmanay now, that's a different matter....

I'v sent a support request because I couldn't activate my registerdd Play+ version, and got back a response stating they were closed until the 6th of January.

Thanks for your interest in Muvizu!
The office is currently closed for the holidays, but normal service resume on January 6th 2014 and we will reply to you as soon as we can after this date!

Until then, from all of us at Muvizu HQ we hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Crash on shutdown I do a lot of graphics, and play a lot of PC games, so I'm meticulous about ensuring my drivers are always up to date. Unfortunately support is closed until Jan 6th (as is the rest of the Muvizu company) so there'll be no satisfaction for a while.

Crash on shutdown Everytime I close Muvizu, regardless if it's an empty scene or has anything in it, it crashes. Windows 7 64bit, 16 GB of RAM, AMD Radeon 6900 with 2 GB or Memory...

Anyone with ideas or suggestions on what it could be?
