Hello. I'm a muvizu lover. I would like to build a cartoon. Since I don't have so much time to build a whole environment,I've tought to use something like this :

https://www.videocopilot.net/products/3d/metropolitan/

I would like if I can use it with muvizu and if there are similar products all around. Thanks.

hi marietto,

That does look pretty cool and I imaging it will be really good quality for the price!

Having looked at it, it would be indirectly usable with Muvizu. The package lists OBJ and FBX formats - which won't import directly into Muvizu but you can use something like blender or sketchup (not fbx I don't think) to convert ASE format and then import them into Muvizu.

If you are going to take this route to get models, I'd suggest you try this website here -

http://www.blendswap.com/search?term=city

(its a search for city models) and download some of the free models. Practice using blender to export ASE files from that or you can search the sketchup 3D warehouse for city models and practice exporting them as ASE so that you know what you are doing before you spend $$$

Good luck!

I have created 2 muvizu city sets unfortunately they didnt fit on the site but they are listed on the forum and that is an awefully huge price tag for what amounts to a bunch of low polygon fancy squares hehe. (unless I am missing something somewhere maybe there is something else included in the package I dont know) I have looked at these guys for sound effects etc but man that 3d Stuff is a wee bit expensive.

read very well. it says : Element v1.5 Required.

I hope that Element v.1.5 is not required to run the metropolitan pack...

Anyway, this kind of product is valid when we want to make move the character on the external places, but what happens when we need to move it inside the closed spaces like inside buildings ? Is there a product that fix this need ?

I tihnk it needs Element v1.5 to use it in after effects - it does list obj files being include but I don't know how that works - or if the license allows you to use it outside of Element v1.5

To get the inside of the buildings you need to build another set, for the inside. Camera angles and cuts to make it look like a character has gone from inside to outside.

Personally I've found http://www.blendswap.com very useful but you might try looking in the Sketchup 3D warehouse for walls / furniture / fixings / etc

This is my favourite one right now http://archive3d.net/
I even made a tutorial how to use blender to get these models into muvizu although you do have to know a bit about modelling in order to add texture.

(i didnt post the tutorial to the muvizu site only the forums because it was a catch all tutorial for more then one platform)
