well its like this I have the model I want to use in muvizu I have done everything I was suposed to do with sketchup and made the whole model a component and then used the muvizu.ase exporter, once I import the model the only thing that on it is the color of the toto.bmp not the texture it came with. I am utterly confused on what to do next!

How many texture slots does it have? Just one, or several?

Well, that ain't right. What's with the component thing? Don't use components or groups unless you have to, the model should be exploded as much as possible (in my experience). It may be that you've hidden the textures inside one component, and Muvizu can't see them so you're only getting one texture slot.

In an SU ambulance, there is maybe only one texture but there are also many colors! So you should check your ASE file with all the materials and colors

Example:
*SUBMATERIAL 8 {
*MATERIAL_NAME "Colour_008"
*MATERIAL_CLASS "Standard"
*MAP_DIFFUSE {
*MAP_CLASS "Bitmap"
*BITMAP "C:\ut3\toto.bmp"

All these colors should be replaces by a Muvizu colour or by a jpg texture like *BITMAP "yellow.jpg"

I'm having the same problem. I have a nice model of a pacman game, looks great in Sketchup 8 with all the textures loaded. But when I export the ASE, every texture in the ASE file is changed to "toto.bmp". Is there no way to make it keep the existing texture references?

Hello,

My method :

- In SU8, I don't use RGB colors. I replace by coloured textures as red.jpg, yellow.jpg, brown.jpg... or photographic textures.

- Then I export the ASE model and all the textures in the same repertory of the Muvizu project

- I edit the ASE file with notepad and I correct the paths of JPG textures files to get the right paths.

NB : a monochrome texture could be a square image of 128 x 128 pixels (JPG or PNG)
