I can't go to the program Hello Nima, sorry you are having trouble.

What error message do you get when you launch Muvizu?

Take care,
-Jim.

animals Hi Harveywetdog,

The Art team are always looking at adding new characters - they are currently working on a dog with it's own attachments and animations. It's going to walk on it's back legs (like Brian from Family Guy) as that way the existing animations can be used with it.

If you have any other suggestions or questions please let us know.

Take care,
-Jim

Animation scripts Hi Than,

I have put your suggestions in (along with a specific one for a water spray effect).

You did that 8 years ago at A-Level? I know guys who have done Computer Games degrees who couldn't do that with brand, spanking new software.......

Take it easy,
-Jim.

List of improvements Hi Rob,

Having a percentage value visible when using the sliders has been suggested before and the Devs are looking into how it could be implemented.

If you have any other questions or suggestions please let us know.

eating, munching animation? Hi artpen,

That's a pretty good idea - I have passed it on to the Art team.

If you have any other ideas or suggestions please let us know.

Take care,
-Jim.

Handcuffed? Hi Than,

Pacing can look like the characters hands are tied behind their back, some of the scared animations make it look like the character has their hands tied together.

There is a "beg" animation that will be making it's way in soon - the characters hands are quite close together for that one too.

I have put a suggestion in for Law animations, including a Handcuffed pose, Surrendering and a few others.

Take it easy,
-Jim.

Consistent crashing. Hi again Matt,

When Windows starts up again do you get a "Windows has just recovered from a serious error........" message? If so there should be a bit for "Find Solution" or "Show Details" depending on the version of Windows that you have. (I can't remember how XP words it)

One possible solution is that with Windows XP it could be your graphics drivers have stopped working - it happens to me very occasionally on Windows 7 but it can recover from the driver failure. Could you please try updating your graphics drivers?

You can get the latest NVIDIA drivers from:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

One last question: have you played any other Unreal 3 engine games on your PC? (Unreal 3, Gears of War, Rainbow Six: Vegas, APB etc.)

Take care,
-Jim

graphics card Hi again Marvin,

I have had a quick look over the last couple of days and the only place that I could find with a variety of cards is.......eBay.

Unfortunately a lot of the sellers can't seem to tell the difference between a PCI and PCI-Express card, but these cards are PCI and should work:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PNY-NVIDIA-GeForce-8400GS-512MB-PCI-VGA-DVI-I-/230497334456?pt=UK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Nvidia-Geforce-8400GS-PCI-512MB-DDR2-LP-8400-GS-/310238708473?pt=UK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GeForce-8400GS-Graphics-Card-512MB-PCI-Video-Card-DVI-/250683476670?pt=UK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW

Edit: Just found it on Amazon - better customer support from them I would imagine :
http://www.amazon.co.uk/PNY-Technologies-nVIDIA-GeForce-Graphics/dp/B001ZZXY98/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1282656583&sr=8-1

The GeForce 8 series cards all have Pixel Shader 2.0 support, so they should work with Muvizu.

Take care,
-Jim.

VideoJoiner fails Thanks DB, it can never hurt to have too much info for crashes.

Take it easy,

Consistent crashing. Hi again,

Could I get some more info off of you please:

Do you get a blue screen or does your PC just stop working?
If you get a blue screen do you know what the .dll file mentioned on it is?
Is it Minimizing then expanding or closing completely then restarting Muvizu?

Take care,
-Jim.

Consistent crashing. Hi Matt,

The reason I suggested overheating is that is what happens if I use Muvizu on my laptop - 10-15 minutes of use then it crashes - unless I sit the corners under the screen on top of coasters (seriously).

It's happening when you minimize then reopen Muvizu? I know of that issue happening with other Unreal 3 engine programmes but I wasn't aware of it happening with Muvizu - I will talk to the devs about it.

Take care,
-Jim.

VideoJoiner fails Morning DB,

The video joiner can be a bit.......temperamental..with videos - normally it crashes if they are too long or the file size is too large.

The videos that you tried were pretty small, so the joiner crashing is unusual.

Could you please e-mail them to bugs@muvizu.com along with your initial post? That way we can try joining them ourselves to see if it's repeatable on other PCs.

Take care,
-Jim.

Trouble uploading vid Rob, that was an awesome video - I had to laugh at all of the Caledonians being ginger........
2010/8/24 10:43:23
still cant get into chair Hi Tony,

Freakmoomin is spot on - if you adjust the scale of the chair you can usually get the character to sit on the chair ok. If you are still having trouble disable "Can be stood on" - that will allow the character to intersect with the chair.

If you have any other questions or problems let us know.

Take care,
-Jim.

Trouble uploading vid Hi again Rob,

Sorry about the delay - there were no error logs in our system so we had to dig a little deeper; it looks like the "Upload Complete" message is shown even if the upload is interrupted.

I tried uploading a test video and disabling my internet connection midway through: I still got the "Upload Complete" message - I would recommend trying again and if you use a Wi-Fi connection you might want to try connecting your PC to the router with an Ethernet cable so that you can have the best connection possible.

I have reported the problem with the upload page to our Web Gurus and hopefully they will be able to get to the bottom of it.

Take care,
-Jim.

Trouble uploading vid Hi Rob, sorry you are having trouble.

If you could please answer a couple of questions we can hopefully get to the bottom of it:

What is your YouTube username?
Do you know what time you uploaded your video?

Take care,
-Jim.

List of improvements Hi Berty,

Moving cameras should be in the next release which is due at the end of August - I am looking forward to seeing what people can do with them.

Take care,
-Jim.

Hi all - just finished my first small project :-) Hi John - I am glad you are enjoying Muvizu.

Nice video - it never occurred to me to use famous radio speeches as a source material.

If you have any questions or suggestions please let us know.

Take care,
-Jim.

Things that make you go uhm! Hi Grant, and thanks for trying Muvizu.

The timeline has been changed quite a lot for the next release - I can't go into too much detail at the moment (as I am at home and don't have the latest version of the software in front of me) but it will be a lot easier to use.

When you say "More transport controls" - I am not sure what you mean - if you are referring to character movement, the Devs are looking into new movement controls, they probably won't be in for the next release but they are looking at them. If I have got the wrong end of the stick let me know .

If you have any other questions or suggestions please let us know.

Take care,
-Jim.

Animation scripts Hi Than,

That was a pretty funky animation - was it for a course or for fun?

The Devs are looking at Animated Object movement, so you will be able to move objects at some point in the future.

As for the fountain effect or the trees/grass moving in the breeze - I thing that's a pretty good idea - I will pass it on.

Take care,
-Jim.
