Hi all,

the 2012 Machinima Expo will start accepting film submissions to this years festival on July 1st. The submission period runs until September 30th.

Check the main machinima-expo.com website for a "Submit Your Film" link and button. I'll also update it here.

More info from our Press Release. Feel free to spread the word and use the press release.

Some great Muvizu films submitted last year.

Link for submitting films;

http://www.machinima-expo.com/~machexpo/index.php/submit-film2

As I'm posting this there are no...just checking..no films waiting in the viewing queue for the screeners!
We watch films as they are submitted and then review everything once again once submissions have ended.
So this is a great time to submit if you need a push!

We've had some amazing films already but none yet from Muvizu. It has been a delight each year to have the privilege of seeing the community here grow, and the quality of films submitted seems to jump up at every expo.

Some wonderful Muvizu films were screened last year at our festival and I have my fingers crossed we could have one in our jury line up this year, could it be your film?

If you would like to keep in touch there are several ways. Our Facebook group is regularly updated;

https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/24514466915/

Our blog caries the big updates http://www.machinima-expo.com/~machexpo/index.php/blog with a couple of posts a month (more as we get nearer to the festival)

and finally good ol' twitter;

https://twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/machinexpo

Twitter is a little quiet right now, but if follow us now you will get all our newsbites starting around August.

Entered a submission - Vimeo is taking forever to show it though, so not sure if it went through okay...

Thanks Ziggy, as i write this i can see the film and link in the review queue, but adding password on vimeo isn't showing the movie...if you can't see it loaded up yet that might be why.
I'll check again in the morning (UK time)

I'm afraid there is still a problem.
Just to reassure other folks, we would have contacted Ziggy by mail if this forum convo hadn't taken place.

Yeah, checked again, still hasn't shown up on Vimeo - it's done this before, where it appears to have done it but it uploads nothing and tells you to wait (indefinitely) until it's posted on the site. I will delete the faulty one, and repost (carefully!)

Also, will resubmit with the application form, so please ditch the previous one and I'll start again. I think it's something to do with changing the settings on the video as it's uploading (my Vimeo account shows I haven't uploaded anything at all this week).

Sorry you are having problems. Thanks for being patient and for submitting to the Expo.

I urge everyone to submit their film. We hope to provide programming for Muvizu this year in addition to screening films.

Thanks!

Thanks for letting me know. Didn't do anything to the video until it finished uploading, and it all went okay, then changed the settings - seems to be the trick

I might have something for this it depends on if I run out of steam before its complete and can enter it for the deadline. I wasn't going to try to enter anything into this but might as well if I can get what I am working on finished and am happy with it.. if i am not happy I wont be letting anyone see :P

I look forward to seeing all of your films. Remember to be kind the screening group, and if you finish early then get the film submitted as it helps to spread the workload.
As far as possible we watch everything as it comes in, then review at the end of the submission period.

I have one to submit. I saw on the website you want vimeo however the upload is too large as I dont have a pro vimeo account. Its being uploaded to youtube as they let me upload larger files in HD. However youtube "fixed" their uploader and that is giving me issue so hopefully I can get it uploaded soon (its been 2 days trying to get it to work lol) if I can't get it to work on youtube I will try dailymotion or something.

Muvizu is probably one of the most underrated machinima tools out there to be honest.

YouTube link is fine to submit. Don't rush yourself though. We encourage folks to get their films in before September because so many filmmakers wait till the last minute. As long as you submit before September you'll get a blue star from the screening team!

I agree. Muvizu is underrated. We hope to change that perception at the Expo this year.
