I would like to let everyone know that Dan Heerdt aka "Danimal" has passed away from a heart attack. He and I worked on the series "The Garage Band Blues" for over 2 years and I have to say working with Dan was awesome. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace my friend.

I'm so sorry to hear that.
He helped out on a few of my videos too; he was very generous and kind man.
Rest in peace, Dan.

RIP Danimal, you will be missed. If you haven't seen them already, newer users should check out Garage Band Blues, an excellent little series made by Danimal and Mysto a few years ago.

I am sorry to hear this. Having survived an heart attack recently, makes it sadder for me. He was also my first fan! R.I.P.

Such sad news - RIP Danimal.
As well as collaborating with Mysto on the excellent "Garage Band Blues" (one of the best things ever made with Muvizu) he also produced the "Best Show Ever" which was another really great mini-series.

This is terrible news.

Danimal joined the Muvizu community after I introduced him to it on the Anime studio forum.
He had a great talent for Muvizu with his videos and his voice acting skills. As has been mentioned before he was a very helpful collaborator and contributor to the videos of others with great humour and also had a great input on the forum. I'm sure many of his suggestions have helped improve Muvizu from where it was when he first played with it.

But all that aside, he will be leaving a heartbroken family behind. Hopefully time will ease the terrible pain of his passing.

R.I.P. Danimal

Cheers mate, you made a lot of people smile!

R.I.P. Danimal. Your videos inspired and educated me when I first started Muvizu. They will live on in the cloud.

Mysto,

thanks for taking the initiative to announce this news to his group of friends and acquaintances on the forum. In a time when many of us are active on multiple global forums, the social dynamic has changed somewhat. There's more potential now for someone's departure to go unannounced, leaving a huge void and no closure for the person's friends.

Sad as it is to learn of such an event, you've made it possible for his friends to grieve, find closure, and pay homage to his life. I think all of those things are very important. Thanks. I can only hope that when my time comes, someone will make a similar announcement on my behalf.

I realize how much Dan "Danimal" was admired by folks here at Muvizu and felt that I just had to let everyone know the sad news.

Just a few days before I found out about Dan's passing he and I were planning the next episode of The Garage Band Blues. We were bouncing ideas off of each other and were both excited to get things rolling on it. But he had just gotten a brand new guitar and told me how much he loved playing it. So much so that it was getting in the way of the things that he "should" be doing. He really loved playing the guitar.

A great animator, a great musician and just an all around great person. One of the most creative, nicest and funniest people I've ever met. Your contributions and talents to this community will be missed very much. Until next time my friend.

I would like to express my feelings to family and friends Danimal even though late. I had to pull away a bit because of my political activism to try to remove from power in my country the Workers Party (PT) and its communist ideology (They went too far.). Danimal always encouraged me with your generous comments on my Muvizu animations. God rest his soul.
