Posts: 37 		I am really struggling getting widescreen videos on you tube ,what size should i aim for to get a good widescreen video ie frame size .I have big problems uploading (very slow) so cant have anything too big.
because of editing ,fx etc cant upload in muvizu program(which is only way I've had hd widescreen.
been using Vegas movie studio 10 and have just downloaded any video converter but still struggling .how do i make my vids look good on you-tube any tips gladly accepted .

Posts: 477 		With Vegas I render to 1280 x 720. I still use the XviD codec and get pretty small files but of a nice, large screen size.

Posts: 1988 		Youtube is erratic in how it handles video, depending on codec and converters used, and the most useful tip I've found to make them look right is to upload them at 1280x720, then when YT squashes it down to 4x3, edit the tag for the video (in your account) and add the tag :

yt:stretch=16:9

This forces YT to put it back to widescreen, which it should've done in the first place. Stupid bloody program Damn Computer..

In case anyone's interested, I haven't had to change the aspect ratio in YouTube at all. My final output from my editing package ( Sony Vegas) is rendered out as an xvid file at the same resolution as the source file exported from Muvizu.
