My rubbish camera work was a bit rough and hard for Hitfilm to track, but it turned out OK. What I'd really like to do is generate FBX 3D camera data using Mocha Hitfilm and import the camera moves into Muvizu. Too much to ask?

That looks fantastic. I downloaded the free version of HitFilm but it wouldn't accept image sequences, so I went back to Sony Movie Studio, which works well for me. But is there a way to do this same sort of thing in that? Can you share how this was made? I have a dragon I need to integrate into Muvizu. Thanks!

(Well, I can do it manually with keyframes, was this manual?)

I mentioned this a while ago to them when I first got into HitFIlm (which is awesome). The more people that ask the better.

Love that video, I see that your track is slipping a bit.
Mocha would do a better job.

@Braj HitFilm Express imports image sequences perfectly. You select the folder that has the pics, unlike Vegas
where you select the first picture in the folder and then tick the box "import as seq"

Side note if there is anything else in the folder other than
the images for the sequence then it will fail.

Ah thanks, I'll reinstall it then and see how I like it. What are the big benefits over Move Studio. I barery know anything about it at all.

Hitfilm is more for compositing and effects, it has a simple editor.
Sony Movie Studio is better for editing, I use Vegas Pro 13 with HitFilm 4 Pro
and love them.

I'm getting 'file error' when I try and import the image folders with sequences inside.
EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out, there was a non-png in the directory I didn't see before.

OK, I'm officially in love. Even with out any addons, the fire and rain/drips and masks and stuff makes it incredibly awesome. Which addon packs are crucial?

I'm a big fan of HitFIlm - don't know about the addons as I bought the PRO version - well worth it. Now with Muvizu's excellent layer output it really has made such a difference to my production.

Here's a recent shot.



Only the characters and their shadow is done in Muvizu - everything else is HitFilm.
The backgorund is a mixture of an imported FBX models and a backdrop.
Stick in some heat distortion, light flares, vignette and some blur and it quickly starts to come together.
I've pretty much stopped using the Muvizu skydome for for outside shots - you get a better effect using backgrounds in HF.

Fantastic picture Berty!
You mention the use of FBX models, are you going to pan around this shot?
I might have a go with the trial.

That's the rub without Mocha imput or output from Muvizu.

I suggested exporting Mocha info from Muvizu cameras so I could make the camera in HF mimic it.

I do move around a bit, sometimes using trackers sometimes just freehand, but you are limited to what is achievable.

However, you'd be amazed at what you can get away with !

You could probably work with the 2D panning I suppose, but I'd like to see if they can export the movements from Muvizu.

Yes, this is very useful for subtle zooms or pull backs, which I tend to do in HF now.

If you separate characters onto their own layers you can also gain control over their positions when they do an action - this can make a big difference particularly on close ups.
